Introduced as a garden escapee, the Chocolate vine is a quick growing twining woody vine.

If left unmanaged it can cover, outcompete and kill native ground level herbage, understorey shrubs and young trees.

Once established, its dense growth prevents seed germination and
establishment of seedlings of native plants.
