Rapidly growing tree which can withstand very wet conditions and is content in Alder carr.

It is fast growing and a good pioneer species and is a relatively common sight near watercourses in the UK.

Can interbreed with native alder (Alnus glutinosa) which could cause future problems for our native stocks
